Winter can now arrive! The North Face McMurdo has landed

Winter has finally arrived, with the belated arrival of The North Face McMurdo Down Insulated Waterproof Jacket, delayed by The North Face for a couple months it is now here, so bring on the cold weather!

Update:

We are not currently stocking The North Face McMurdo Parka. Our nearest equivalent from The North Face is the TNF Nanavik Jacket or the Didricksons Shelter Waterproof Parka.

With an RRP of £275 we have set our CheapTents price at £214.99 a saving of just over £60 off RRP.

The McMurdo is about as good as it gets in terms of buying an extreme cold weather insulated waterproof jacket, they are highly sought after and always quick to sell out, so don’t delay!

Why is it so good?

The McMurdo is much more than a jacket with some North Face branding on, its outer shell is made from a robust HyVent 2L waterproof fabric to keep the water out whilst still providing breathability. The toasty warm 550FP Goose Down insulation keeps you so comfortable you won’t care that outside your jacket it’s so cold polar bears are turning blue!

The McMurdo, I am reliably told by my colleague Martyn who has owned and cherished one of these beasties for six years, was originally designed, by The North Face for Ski Lift attendants, in the Rocky Mountains, who stood around all day whilst helping people on and off ski lifts. As a result of being designed for a purpose the McMurdo is chocked full of features, from its number of internal and external pockets to its detachable hood, it will not disappoint.

But be warned because of all the insulation and waterproof fabrics the McMurdo is not a lightweight coat. As Martyn put it to me “it’s got a flock of geese in it as insulation, its not light but its warm!”

So not only do you have the chance to wrap up extra warm this winter, you can also grab a bargain; what more could you ask for? Just go to our North Face McMurdo Product Page, where we are stocking black and fig green colour options in sizes from Medium to Extra Large at a bargain £214.99. Alternatively if you just want a really warm insulated jacket go for the Mountain Equipment Annapurna, which is so warm and comfy better people than me have liked it to wearing a sleeping bag!
