This post has been updated for 2013!
On the 25/26 May the London 2 Brighton Challenge will be taking place. Now in its third year, this 100 km event is extremely popular for charity fund raising. One of the charity partners is The Hunger Project, and they are looking for volunteers to take part in the event. You can choose to walk, jog or run the 100 km route, so why not sign up and take the challenge?
What is The Hunger Project?
Founded in 1977, The Hunger Project is dedicated to the sustainable end of world hunger. Through 375,000 trained volunteer leaders, who work in more than 20,000 villages across 11 countries of South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, the Hunger Project enriches the lives of an estimated 35 million people. Their ethos is to empower people so that they can fulfil their potential and build lives of self-reliance and dignity.
The London 2 Brighton Challenge
Starting off at Richmond, on the banks of the Thames, the route for the London to Brighton Challenge follows footpaths, bridleways and national trails through the North and South Downs.
London to Brighton is not just a challenge – it’s a journey. Beginning with a committed training regime; the anticipation and excitement of a 1000 challengers at the start. Ending after a long night on weary limbs with blurry eyes, the Brighton coastline coming into view; and celebrating an overwhelming sense of achievement. Whether your ambition is to complete the distance in 15 or 30 hours, the year for achieving personal goals and setting new records is 2012. The challenge is London to Brighton! london2brightonchallenge.com
