Nine Edges Endurance Event needs Marshalls

Help the Nine Edges Endurance Event run smoothly by becoming a marshall for the day…

Edale Mountain Rescue Team needs marshals to help on the Nine Edges Endurance event on Saturday 27th September. This is becoming one of most prestigious and accessible endurance events in the area.

What is the Nine Edges Event?

The Nine Edges Endurances gives you the choice of whether to hike, run, climb or bike the route, so reaches out to all abilities and outdoor sporting enthusiasts.

It is a traverse from Fairholmes to the Robin Hood pub near Baslow – about 20 miles for hikers, runners and climbers, 32 miles for mountain bikers!!!!  Climbers can also climb a route of their choice on each of the 9 gritstone edges along the course.  The biggest prerequisite is that some navigational ability is required as the course follows a some areas of exposed moorland.

For people that want to take part in the event:

Transport back to the start is provided (free). T-shirt and pint (or soft drink) also included in the entry fee. Light refreshments are available during and at the end of the route.  It is optional to raise sponsorship for Edale Mountain Rescue Team.

Contact the Edale Mountain Rescue Team
